Pine Mountain, GA (May 26, 2023) – The 30th Nautique Junior Masters presented by GM Marine kicked off the weekend today at Callaway Gardens. The record-setting Ski Nautique and award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 were showcased as the world’s best junior waterski and wakeboard athletes claimed titles on the infamous Robin Lake.
The world record-setting Ski Nautique started the day pulling Hannah Stopnicki (CAN) in the Junior Women's Trick division to the win with a score of 5,960 points. Jake Abelson (USA) took home the Junior Men’s Trick discipline behind the Ski Nautique as well after scoring 11,390 points.
Team Nautique athlete Charlie Ross (CAN) showcased his talents and received a Junior Masters title during the Junior Men’s Slalom final after he ran 3.00 @ 11.25 M. “Skiing at the Masters is always surreal - the prestige, the venue, it’s like no other,” said Charlie Ross. “Today was a challenging day on Robin Lake, but we persevered and I’m proud to win my second consecutive Junior Masters slalom title!”
During the Junior Women’s Slalom, it was Trinidad Espinal (CHL) winning the Junior Masters title behind the record-setting Ski Nautique. Rounding out the Top 3 were Alana Jones (USA) and Daniela Kretschmer (CHL) respectively.
After laying down two perfect passes behind the award-winning G23 in the Junior Women’s Wakeboard division, Giulia Castelli (ITL) celebrated her first Junior Masters title on the iconic Robin Lake. The award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 set up perfect wakes for the Junior Men’s Wakeboard riders, and after it was all said and done Shion Takaiwa (JPN) who took home the Junior Masters title.
During the Junior Women’s Jump division Kristy Appleton (AUS) jumped an incredible distance of 138 feet (42.1m) to win the Junior Masters title. The Ski Nautique also pulled Tristan Duplan-Fribourg (FRA) during the Junior Men’s Jump to a distance of 183 feet (55.8m) to win the Junior Men's Jump discipline.
After it was all said and done, it was Megan Pelkey (CAN) taking the Overall Junior Women Masters title behind the Ski Nautique with 2,720 points. On the Junior Men side of things, it was Tristan Duplan-Fribourg (FRA) who won the Overall Junior Men Masters title after accumulating 2,820 points.
