Pine Mountain, GA (May 29, 2022) – The 62nd Nautique Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® presented by GM Marine finished in dramatic fashion today at Callaway Gardens! The weather was ideal for the record-setting Ski Nautique and the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 to pull the best waterski and wakeboard athletes in the world to Masters titles.
Team Nautique athlete Erika Lang (USA) capped off an incredible weekend when she broke a course record and took home a Masters title in the Women's Trick division after scoring an incredible 10,930 points.
"I am super excited to take the win today!" said Erika Lang "I felt confident and comfortable behind the wakes of the Ski Nautique during my finals run and I'm so happy to break the course record."
After Erika, it was another Team Nautique athlete Neilly Ross (CAN) taking second place, with Giannina Bonnemann (GER) and Anna Gay (USA) rounding out the Final round.
In the Pro Men Trick discipline, Team Nautique athlete Pato Font (MEX) kept his streak alive after matching his course record-breaking score from the semi finals. He posted an incredible score of 12,250 points behind the Ski Nautique to add another Masters title to his name. "I'm super excited to win my third Masters in a row," said Pato Font "I couldn’t have done without my team and my sponsors. A special thanks to Nautique and Callaway Gardens for making the most prestigious event every year." Pato was followed by Dorien Llewellyn (CAN), Joel Poland (GBR), Louis Duplan-Fribourg (FRA) respectively.
Regina Jaquess (USA) was able to put together some incredible passes behind the GM Marine powered Ski Nautique to take home the win in Pro Women’s slalom. Team Nautique skier Whitney McClintock Rini (CAN) earned second spot while Vennesa Vieke (AUS) and Allie Nicholson (USA) rounded out the rest of the field.
The conditions were perfect for the Pro Men’s Slalom finals where Nate Smith (USA) earned the top spot on the podium. Team Nautique skier Jon Travers skied masterfully behind the record-setting Ski Nautique and grabbed second spot with 2@41' off. After that it was Will Asher (GBR) and Dane Mechler (USA) rounding out the rest of the Pro Men’s Slalom division.
Team Nautique rider Mary Morgan Howell put together two passes that easilty bested her competition in the Women’s Wakeboard Finals. The Super Air Nautique G23 wake was perfect as the many on fans on the beach witnessed Mary Morgan win her second consecutive Masters title. Mackenzie McCarthy (AUS), Meagan Ethell (USA) and Carro Djupsjö (SWE) followed in second, third and fourth places respectively.
The world’s best performed flawlessly behind the PCM and GM Marine powered Super Air Nautique G23. In the end, Team Nautique athlete Cory Teunissen (AUS) took the win after putting together two incredible passes. After Cory it was Tyler Higham (USA), Luca Kidd (GBR) and Team Nautique athlete Tony Iacconi (AUS) rounding out the rest of the field.
The beach was packed for the Pro Women's Jump finals and the crowds cheered as Lauren Morgan (USA) flew 167 feet (51m) for her first-ever Masters title. Brittany Greenwood (USA), Hanna Straltsova (IWWF) and Agustina Varas (CHL) rounded out the final round behind the GM Marine powered Ski Nautique.
The Pro Men’s Jump Finals saw Joel Poland (GBR) win his first-ever Masters title after jumping 218 feet (66.5m). Team Nautique athlete Ryan Dodd earned himself second place after jumping 217 feet (66.2.m) behind the PCM-powered Ski Nautique. Freddy Krueger (USA) and Taylor Garcia (USA) rounded out the heat as the event concluded the weekend’s events where the crowds watched the world's best athletes perform their best with perfect conditions all weekend long.
