Orlando, FL (July 30, 2024) – Nautique Boats was proud to pull the 34th consecutive Nautique WWA National Championships presented by GM Marine this past weekend! Held on the picturesque Lake Tye in Monroe, Washington, stop #3 of both the Nautique Wake Series and Nautique Wakesurf Series brought the nation’s top wakeboard and wakesurf athletes together for four days of intense competition.

With the record-breaking Super Air Nautique G23 pulling the wakeboard divisions and the award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 Paragon providing the perfect waves for the surf divisions, this year’s Nationals delivered an exhilarating display from 263 seasoned professionals and emerging talents alike. The wide range of divisions for all ages and skill levels ensured a diverse and inclusive competition with ages ranging from 5 to 71 years old. Representing the initiatives of Wake for Warriors, we were also proud to have 5 adaptive competitors surfing for a national title.

Team Nautique athlete Noah Flegel blew the competition out of the water and made history as the first person to make it to the final round in all six pro men divisions. Noah claimed the National title in three out of these six divisions with wins in Pro Men Foil, Pro Men Foil Straps, and Pro Men Surf.  Noah took the second spot on the podium in Pro Men Wakeskate and came third in Pro Men Skim.

“The Nautique WWA Nationals is one of the most prestigious events of the year.” Said Nautique athlete, Noah Flegel. “I had a lot on my plate this weekend, and I’m so stoked with the turn out! I’m looking forward to the next event on August 22nd at the Wakesurf Masters!”

In the Pro Foil divisions, Team Nautique athletes John Ackerman and Erika Lang also delivered podium worthy performances. John took third place in Pro Men Foil Straps and Erika took second and third in Pro Women Foil Straps and Pro Women Foil, respectively.

Team Nautique athlete Jodi Grassman surfed her way to third place in Pro Women Surf, with Nautique teammate Bailey Dunn also securing third in the Pro Women Skim division.

The award-winning Super Air Nautique G23 pulled not one, but two Nautique athletes to win National titles in the Pro Wakeboard divisions. Cory Teunissen put down incredible passes to take the win in Pro Men Wakeboard, and Zahra Kell was victorious in Pro Women Wakeboard, securing her #1 ranking in the Nautique Wake Series going into the final event of the season.

“Winning Nationals was such a dream.” Said Nautique athlete Zahra Kell. “I had a lot of setbacks this week before the event and being able to put it all aside to stand on top of the podium means the world. Thank you Nautique and the WWA!”

Anticipation is building for the final stops for both the Nautique Wakesurf Series and the Nautique Wake Series. In just three weeks, the 2024 Nautique Wakesurf Series concludes with the Nautique Masters Wakesurf Championships presented by GM Marine! Shortly after, the Nautique WWA World Wakeboard Championships will be held on the Gold Coast of Australia. Click here to learn more or to register for the final events of the season!
