| SUPER AIR NAUTIQUE PRODUCED THE ULTIMATE WAKE FOR A HISTORIC WAKEBOARD NATIONALS | 07/14/09 |
The Air Nautique Wakeboard Nationals, which exclusively used the high performance, competition caliber Super Air Nautique 210 and 230 models, resulted in several historic performances in both wakeboarding and wakeskating.
Team Nautique rider Danny Harf made wakeboarding history by becoming the first rider to land a Wrapped Cork Nose Grab Backside 7 in a contest. A new wakeboarding trick referred to as Mocha Latte debuted at the Wakeboard Nationals; the Moby Dick 540 was also unveiled for the first time during a contest. There were also two other wakeboarding firsts this weekend as an S-Bend and a Switch 270 Transfer on the Fun Box were completed by a female rider during a competition for the very first time. Additionally, in the Men’s Wakeskate Division a Switch Heelside 540 was landed for the first time during a contest.
Team Nautique wakeboarder Bob Soven took the first place title in the Junior Men’s Wakeboard Division, thus continuing his dominance on the water this year. Likewise, he was preceded on the podium by his little brother Jason who won the Boy’s Division and also credited Nautique. Team Nautique athlete Keith Lidberg also had outstanding performances this weekend and received the Best Trick Award for his Toeside 270 Transfer on the Fun Box.
“The Air Nautique Wakeboard Nationals provided a weekend of thrills on the water that could only have occurred behind a Nautique. Athletes were comfortable trying new tricks never before done in competition, knowing that the Nautique wake would provide them with the support they needed to perform to their highest potential,” stated Correct Craft President/CEO Bill Yeargin. “It was exciting to hear so many athletes get off the water and rave about the Nautique wake.” Yeargin added.
