Ski Nautique – 50 Years!!03/01/11   

It is not often that a company has the opportunity to both change an industry and dramatically improve the lives of a large group of people, but, that is exactly what happened 50 years ago when the Ski Nautique was introduced!

To be honest, as legend has it, Correct Craft’s founder was originally skeptical of this new boat because it was not made out of wood. “I have never seen a fiberglass tree” is a quote that is attributed to WC Meloon at the time.

Fortunately Mr. Meloon was convinced and the Ski Nautique revolutionized the waterskiing world in 1961. This new boat, designed by Leo Bentz, with a center engine produced a ski wake unlike anything before it. Waterskiers enjoyed this new boat and many more people around the world were brought into our sport over the years because of the Ski Nautique.

For the last fifty years the Ski Nautique has set the standard for ski boats with innovation after innovation.

Just about twenty months ago, the most recent innovation of the Ski Nautique was introduced as the Ski Nautique 200, available in open or closed bow. In its short life the new Ski Nautique has already pulled three world records, numerous national records and innumerable personal bests. Not more than a few days passes without me hearing from someone who has had a chance to ski behind the new Ski Nautique and wants to rave about it!

The Ski Nautique is a boat that has been copied many times, but never equaled. Once again competitors are chasing us and trying to catch up with the latest Ski Nautique. However, the Nautique team is committed to constant improvement and innovation that will keep us always pulling ahead.

If you are one of the many people who have owned a Ski Nautique over that last 50 years, our team would like to express our sincere appreciation to you.
