Last March Nautique created more buzz in our industry than anyone can ever recall with the introduction of a boat wakeboard legend Shaun Murray called a “game changer;” the Super Air Nautique G23. Our “Reveal” party was packed and so many people tried to watch online that it crashed both the webcast and our Nautique website. It was definitely one of the most exciting nights in the history of our industry.

Interestingly, I had some well-intended friends ask me if we were making a mistake creating so much hype over a boat introduction. They sincerely said that we were creating a pretty high set of expectations related to the boat and it would be hard to deliver on those expectations.

So, six months later, what has happened?

Well, we started with the Nautique Wake Games held here in Orlando just two weeks after the G23 introduction. It was the first time the boat would be seen on the water and it was pulling one of the industry’s most exciting events. No pressure, huh? Well, the Wake Games ended up being historic with the landing of the first ever wake-to-wake 1080 in competition. In all the great wakeboard competitions over the past couple decades it was that first time that happened and it was behind the G23. Then, it happened again; a second wake-to-wake 1080! What had never happened before happened twice in the same day. The Super Air Nautique G23 was off to an amazing start!

After the Nautique Wake games we were able to get some G23’s around for people to ride as part of our Proving Grounds Tour. As the Super Air Nautique G23’s traveled around the country people were amazed. At stop after stop people were lining up to experience this boat that was truly a game changer. Our team could not be happier with the response of so many people who have ridden in or behind the G23 and have loved it, many placing orders for their own!

The Super Air Nautique was validated in competition, it was validated by wakeboarders everywhere and finally it was validated by our industry. Earlier this month members of our industry voted the Nautique G23 as the industry’s “Most Innovative Product.”

So, was the hype too big? Nope, in fact, it may not have been big enough. This boat is truly amazing!

The world’s best wake boat; the world’s best ski boat; and a company that cares!
