I am writing this week’s blog on my flight home from the New York Boat Show, and, what a great show it was!

The New York Boat Show is normally a good show for us, and this year’s show was as good as any. We tied our record for the most boats sold, many of which were to first time Nautique buyers.

During the show I had the opportunity to walk around looking at the 2008 products offered by various manufacturers and dealers. It was encouraging to see the new Nautiques side by side with our competitors’ boats – once again Nautiques stand out as the product to own.

It was also great to meet with people in our booth and to hear them rave about Nautiques. Those looking to buy were excited to hear about our boat show incentives; not only that, the Nautique branded skis and wakeboards we are giving away to people who purchase boats during a boat show were a hit.

Thanks to our dealers who worked the New York show: Mitch and the crew from Candlewood, Louie and the team from Offshore, Tom and the group from Adirondack; they all did an excellent job giving our new customers a great Nautique sales experience. Watching these dealers interact with our customers on such a professional level reminded me once again of why Correct Craft is consistently rated high in customer service.

I also spoke to our dealers and sales reps at other boat shows around the country including Portland, San Diego, Toledo and Northern California; all of them reported great sales activity and a lot of excitement about the 2008 Nautiques.

There has been legitimate concern in the boating industry regarding the economy and its impact on boat sales in 2008. However, the customers attending the various boat shows this past week loved the 2008 Nautiques and demonstrated it by buying boats. If the first week of boat shows is any indication, it will be a great year for Nautiques.

Later this week I will be off to California to attend the Pleasanton Boat Show. If you are planning to attend that show on Friday stop by the Nautique booth, I would love to meet you.
